January 3, 2011

It would seem like i could keep with a new plan for more than a day, but NOOOO! I didn't even write anything yesterday. Geeze. I think i thought about it a few times.

So today is Danny Holt's birthday. Yes. I still think about him. Too bad there was more bad than good.

Mom brought home McDonalds for lunch, but she was "early" so no one is eating lunch yet. She also brought me a strawberry banana smoothie - they are pretty yummy! I'm drinking my breakfast and will eat lunch with them later. I told mom i wanted to eat the leftover bacon and make a blt for lunch instead of a mcd's meal (still got the fries!)

I have zero willpower. I thought after going three months eating a lowfat - read "healthy" diet - I would stop wanting the bad stuff. I was wrong. I've found that i can eat fatty foods without much problem (maybe a trip to the bathroom an hour later). So I've been slowly sneaking in some snacks -- doritos, m&ms and other chocolates, etc. Bad grace. :(  I was halfway good when i turned down mcd's. We've actually already had mcd's this year and yes, i did have a big mac. Bad bad grace. :( Gotta find that willpower again. While i was sick i lost 20 pounds and i'd rather not find it.

I'm heading out of this house - first trip since my surgery -- Going shopping and running errands with mom after lunch.

New Year's Day -- January 1, 2011

A new year.... Here's a little of what's going on today:
After two days of warmer weather all the snow melted, leaving a wet muddy mess outside. Yesterday the skies turned dark, and we even had thunderstorms --an interesting and unusual way to spend New Year's Eve. Today the sun is out, with pretty blue skies. The weatherman says we'll be back to "winter weather" later today. I can't believe it was 50 degrees yesterday.
New Year's Day brings one of my favorite things on tv -- The Twilight Zone marathon on SYFY channel. Mom is napping on the couch, and Jerry is probably asleep in his chair. Gosh, aren't we a lively crowd!
